DESCRIPTION:Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting: (Via Zoom)\n\n\n\nThe guest speaker this month will be Ashley Hoffman from the California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber)\, a not-for-profit business advocate and HR compliance resource for California employers. CalChamber is the largest\, broad-based business advocate to government in California\, working at state and federal levels to influence government actions affecting all California businesses. Ashley will discuss AB 257\, a CalChamber-opposed bill that will increase prices at counter-served restaurants and further burden working families. This legislation applies to a diverse industry and includes coffee shops\, ice cream parlors\, salad bars\, taquerias\, delis\, pizzerias\, bakeries\, burger houses\, and other fast-food and quick-service restaurants.\n\n\n\nThis meeting is chaired by South County Chambers of Commerce Board Director\, Marshall Brown with Farmers Insurance.\n\n\n\nAll local businesses are encouraged to attend.
