Mark Hummel's Blues Harmonica Blowout
Since 1991, blues harmonica master Mark Hummel has assembled the finest blues musicians and taken them on the road. Headlining this year's lineup is Lee Oskar - the original harmonica player from the band WAR and founder/owner of the Lee Oskar Harmonica Company. Guitarist Kenny Neal is from Louisiana blues royalty, first played bass with Buddy Guy & Jr Wells, was a member of Downchild, starred on Broadway in MuleBone, has been nominated 5 times for Grammys & won multiple Blues Music Awards. Jason Ricci is the two-time BMA winner for best harmonica and a worldwide influence to other harp blowers as his virtuoso chops are mind bending thanks to a technique called over blowing. Chris Cain is an Alligator recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, keys, sax) and vocalist, and a seven-time Blues Music Awards nominee. Also joining Hummel for this tour are Virginian blues harp master and vocalist Andrew Alli, Bob Welsh (Fabulous Thunderbirds), bassist Randy Bermudes and drummer June Core (Charlie Musselwhite rhythm section). Note: Guitarist Lurrie Bell was originally scheduled to appear, but is unable to and has been replaced by Kenny Neal.
